"The Tome School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school founded in 1889 by Port Deposit philanthropist Jacob Tome. The school's curriculum provides a broad liberal arts education for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade in an environment emphasizing academic success, high standards of personal behavior, and full participation in school life." - Quote from the Tome School website.
The $4.5 million, 34,000 square-foot, two-story South Wing was designed to seamlessly match the existing Williamsburg style building to complete the original vision of a symmetrical building.
The Tome School’s addition provided the students and faculty with new classrooms, biology and computer labs, an art room, a utility lab, a cafeteria and a new library.
Dever Architects is pleased to say that the addition to the Tome School was selected as a winner in Masonry Construction’s “Top Project” Competition and was published in the July/August 2005 issue.
